Shri Pathmeda Godham Mahatirth organized its 9 days event named this year “Gau Kripa Mahotsov” at Manorama Goloktirth, Nandgaon, District Sirohi in the State of Rajasthan. One of the main purposes of the event was to bring awareness of the Indian original Desi cow breed and the urgent need to protect the endangered Indian cow dynasty of Bharatiya Govamsa. In the Vedic culture, the cow is considered our mother and therefore must be protected. Other objectives of the Gau Kripa Mahotsov were to encourage the use of Panchagavya products that can help bring a healthy and natural life to humanity and secondly, to emphasize the importance of producing food grains by using the natural byproducts of cows, namely their highly medicinal and potent dung and urine.

Many Go Bhaktas and sadhus arrived from different parts of India and from other countries as well. Devotees from the four Vaisnavas Sampradayas, including Shankaracarya followers, enthusiastically participated in the Mahotsov. From Orissa, Jagannatha Puri, HH Shri Shankaracarya Maharaja, HH Shri Prajnananda Maharaja, and hundreds of Go Bhaktas came. From Vrindavan Maluk Pithadhishvar Swami Shri Rajendradasji Maharaja, HH Shri Krishna Chandra Maharaja, HH Shri Pundarika Maharaja, and many other babajis and devotees also joined. HH Srila Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja, ISKCON Minister for the Daiva Varnasrama and Rural Development Ministry for India came from Hyderabad. Nimbarka Pithadhishvar HH Shri Shyamasundar Maharaja, HH Shri Giriraj Maharaja, Loksabha MPs, the Rajasthan Environmental Department Minister and many other devotees also participated in the event enthusiastically.

His Holiness Dutt Sharananda Maharaja, the founder of Pathmeda Godham Mahatirth participated everyday in the morning Go Puja and encouraged everyone in the Mahotsov. Many devotees contributed for TULA DHAN, giving equal amount of weight of jaggery for the cows. For the first time in history, the Panchagavya Ayurvedic Hospital was officially opened in Manorama Goloktirth.

His Holiness Sri Rajendradasji Maharaja everyday gave Go Bhagavat Katha pravachan and inspired the people to realize the urgent need to take up Vedic culture by defending and protecting Gomata. Maharaja enlightened everyone to preach the glories of Gomata, to carry the message to every nook and corner of Bharat Bhumi and inspire others to use panchagavya products and produce food by using cow dung and gomutra.

Everyday, Bhagavat Katha was held among many Go Bhaktas. Thousands of cows surrounded the Pandal programs. Thousands of brahmanas recited the Srimad Bhagavatam. Thousands of cows were worshiped morning and evening. Thousands of devotees were doing parikrama to the cows and Goshalas. Thousands of cows and 33 crores of devatas within Gomata were hearing Srimad Bhagavatam daily. It was very pleasing just to have darshan of these thousands of cows and devotee cow lovers assembled in one place.

Pathmeda Godham was initially started with only 8 cows in 1993, and has since increased to lakhs of cows and thousands of Goshalas. They encourage people from different States to take cows and take care of them. If somehow they cannot continue to look after the cows, they can return them to Pathmeda Godham.

Sant Jay Prakash MD of the project took His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Maharaja to show different places in Manorama Goloktirth. They have Yajnashala, Akhanda Harinam Kirtan, and a Panchagavya Ayurvedic Hospital for cows. Maharaja spent lot of time discussing about the Dhanvantari sanctuary where hey take care of diseased cows. Jay Prakashji explained how cows are expecting love. Because Gomata is our mother, when our mother is in hospital, she expects that her children, family members, come and see her. In the same way, Jay Prakashji explained about the loving treatment to the cows, and the different ways that they care for cows based on their needs. HH Dutt Sharananda Maharaja has nicely arranged for Goshala pradhakshana, with Tulasi Trees around the pathway. Tulasi gives good health to both cows and devotees.

Bharat Bhumi can only be developed and saved by taking care of cows and by stopping slaughterhouses completely. By doing this one activity of protecting and caring for cows one can happily follow the Vedic culture and Krishna consciousness life. ISKCON Founder Acarya Srila Prabhupada in his literature of Srimad Bhagavatam and in other books mentions about stopping cow slaughter and saving Mother Earth from the use of chemicals and pesticides. Gomata purifies the environment and the universe. The Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krishna Himself showed the example of caring and worshiping cows.

Jaya Gomata! Jaya Gopal! Bhaktavatsala prabhu dinadayal.

[With blessings and inspiration of His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja I (Sri Jiva das) humbly tried to glorify Gomata.]
